Gave his recommendation about what replacement option would be best (and the most cost effective) for us. Then explained in plain language the features and functionality of our new water heater.
Got the old water heater, drained, disconnected and out of the house, then installed the new unit including running the plumbing, attaching connecting the exhaust fan, installed new vent piping up to code.
