Real Work Completed in Germantown Homes

Beth P. had just moved into her new home and needed several plumbing items taken care of after having new flooring installed. We installed two new toilets, replaced the shut-off valves in both bathrooms and the kitchen, installed new boiler drains and hammer arrestors at the laundry sink, and repaired a 3/4 inch water line at the water heater. Everything was tested and confirmed working before we left.
Richard S. was remodeling his bathroom and needed the plumbing updated to accommodate a new double vanity. We opened the wall, recessed the drain piping with proper pitch and hangers, and stubbed out new drain and water lines for both sinks. Each water line was given its own shut-off valve, and everything was tested and confirmed working with no leaks before we wrapped up.
Jenny and George M. called after water started backing up in their basement and both sump pumps stopped working. We replaced both pumps in their sealed crocks and confirmed everything was operating properly before leaving.

Dylan came out to look at some major parts of our house’s plumbing system, and readily answered all our questions, ranging from our sump pump to our water softener to our basement’s laundry tub to our toilets. He answered all our questions knowledgeably, and offered a variety of reasonable solutions that we could choose from for issues that had to be fixed. An ace plumber like Dylan is one of the reasons we always turn to Austin for our plumbing needs. Each year, Austin sends out a very helpful reminder to their customers to have their HVAC systems checked and maintained. This year, they send Seth to look at our HVAC setup. Seth is another of Austin’s knowledgeable experts. He arrived on time, and thoroughly checked our HVAC system, replaced filters as needed, made sure everything was working properly, verified our ducts were clean, and noted our system was maintaining a reasonable humidity level. We were extremely satisfied with the quality of his work. It doesn’t get any better than that! Another outstanding maintenance job today (March 25, 2026) by the team at Austin. Seth fixed a leaking solenoid in our furnace quickly and efficiently. We can always rely on Austin to send its technicians to address and fix any heating and air conditioning issue we have.

Common Questions Germantown Homeowners Have About Plumbing

Who’s a highly rated plumber in Germantown?
Austin’s an easy call in Germantown — the shop’s right on Appleton Avenue in the heart of town, and the crew’s plumbed Germantown and Washington County homes since 1939. Plenty of your neighbors already have Austin on speed dial. You get a licensed tradesperson at the door (never a subcontractor), an honest diagnosis, pricing before any work, and non-commissioned techs, so the fix you’re quoted is the one you need. If the work breaks, Austin fixes it free — part of why they’ve earned 3,500+ five-star reviews.
My fixtures keep clogging or crusting up — is that a plumbing issue?
Around Germantown it often is, and it usually traces back to the water. Washington County’s hard, iron-heavy water leaves scale and mineral buildup that narrows pipes, gunks up aerators and valves, and stains fixtures. Clearing the fixture is a band-aid if the water’s the real culprit. Austin will tell you honestly whether you’ve got a plumbing problem, a water problem, or both — and they handle both under one roof.
What happens on a plumbing service call with Austin?
The plumber finds the real source first — a leak or a stain isn’t always where the trouble actually is — then explains it plainly and quotes before touching anything. Leaks, clogs, fixtures, repipes, sump systems: the trucks come stocked, so most of it’s handled the same visit, not a reschedule for parts.
What will a plumbing repair cost in Germantown?
You get the bottom-line number before work starts and you never pay for what you didn’t approve. Because the techs earn the same on a small fix or a full repipe, no one’s nudging the job upward. Honest options, your call — with a home base right here in town if you ever need them again.
Are there plumbing issues common to Germantown homes?
The big one is water quality. Washington County is known for hard water and high iron, especially on the many wells around Germantown — and that mineral content quietly scales up pipes, shortens fixture life, and stains everything it touches. Austin sees it constantly here, so they know to check whether your plumbing problem is really a water problem, and they can fix both.
