Luke K was prompt and thorough when performing our water heater replacement. He was on time and efficient as he covered the operation of the new heater. Excellent service!

Amazing experience working with Joe, Tony, Colton and Garrett. From start to finish they were professional, efficient, honest and overall good guys. They cranked out a double furnace/double ac unit replacement and conversion into a new single furnace and new single ac unit, along with a new humidifier and smart thermostat in two days. Tony fabricated custom duct work and it turned out looking so clean. They made sure the work was done and pulled two consecutive ten hour days to meet the two day deadline that was communicated to us in the beginning. Can’t recommend and thank these fellas enough, they are all big assets to the company!

Was very happy I called Austin Plumbing. I had a suspected problem but had no idea what it was. They showed up later that morning and quickly diagnosed the issue. Noah J. Was great and explained to me the problem and what options I had to move forward. He was very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. He was also upfront about potential costs and timeline. Long story short is that the septic tank had to be emptied to fix the problem. Once that was taken care of I was thankful Austin Plumbing had me on the schedule for the next morning. Noah returned with another hard worker and they took care of all the issues. It was a dirty job and really appreciate those guys. Every step of the way i felt informed by Noah and he provided a lot of peace of mind to my wife and I. I would recommend Austin Plumbing and will be calling them if I need something in the future.

Efficient and polite.

My 10 years old water heater died yesterday. I scheduled an appointment to repair it. I called Austin because the old one was installed by Austin. I assume they should be trusted and charged reasonable fees. I also see Austin quite often in my neighborhood and on road. It’s Hartland based business. Another source of trust. The plumber came in and checked it. He told me I need a new water heater. I agreed since it’s 10 years old and had gone to the end of life. He also found my softener was died too. He gave me a quote around 3900$ for water heater and 2700$ for softener replacement after club members discount . I had no idea on the price , first time to change water heater and softener. and I want hot water to come back as soon as possible. I agreed he go ahead. In the afternoon, I went to office and talk to my colleagues and they told me the price is extremely high. Two of my colleagues replaced water heater in recent months. They told me I may be over charged by more than 2000$. One of them installed a heat pump water heater which is more expensive and more efficient than tank water heater with much lower total cost than me. He hired plumbers and electrician to complete the work. My work was done by plumber only. They told me the labor is about 100$-200$/hr. Several hundred dollars should be fair to cover the labor costs. One of them go with Home Depot. I know plumber doesn’t like be compared with Home Depot’s but if the cost difference is larger than 1k to1.5k$ for installation itself, it’s hard to believe it’s a fair price. I checked the price online, the water heater itself should be around 1900 to 2000$ for Bradford White 50 gallon power vent versions. The water softener I am not sure the price. But should be less than 1000$. The work was done from 9:30 to 2pm including clean up time, 4.5 hours work changed me 3600 to 4000$ for labor and parts? I read the article on teamAustin website about the cost of water heater replacement cost. My 50 gallon water heater installation cost is way too high. And to be honest, I can understand a lot of factors of the installation can affect cost , my work is done with not so complex. For example, the vent pipe was reused. Changing copper pipe is basic work to be done for installation. Another cost for water softener is too high even with the article on teamAustin web written by Eric, the up-limit for a 48k softener is 2100$. Again, the work is not that complex, in/out pipe was reused and needs some new copper pipe to connect to existing pipes. But that would be some installation work for every home. By doing research on web, the softener itself are around 600 to 800$ for 48k. Even it’s 1000$, change me 1700$ for labor and parts? The total time also tells this is not a super complex work. Two jobs done in 4.5 hours. I like to pay some extra money to get my hot water back but the cost to get it back is way too high after talk to my friends. Maybe talk to your friends or get more quotes before making decisions.

The plumber was polite and the work was done well. I was appreciative to the help to get my hot water back in very short of time but I didn’t understand the price. Maybe there is something wrong with the price. If it’s correct, I am surprised the installation overhead is a way too high. I can understand the article about cost and business model on teamAustin website. But maybe it’s beyond what I can afford. If you can afford it, please go ahead. A lesson learned for homeowners, quote, quote and quote. Talk to friends, don’t hurry, stay in hotels for several days is not expensive than this. Don’t rush , be calm. I have a furnace to be replaced and will talk to more local experts and get an idea of reasonable prices range.

We had an issue with a sump pump on a rainy day, of course. I called in the morning to schedule service. Austin said they would get someone out to our house that same day but they were busy. They rearranged the schedule and Jason was at our house within the hour. He did a great job including explain the issue and his recommendation. We ended up getting a new sump pump and stopped worrying about water in our basement. Austin is a great company to work with. We highly recommend them.

Joe tuned the furnace and replaced the 15 year old Aprilaire humidifier. He did a great job explaining the new system and as always cleaned up everything.
